Samsung GamePad to be launched for Rs 4,999 in January 2014 in India

At its Galaxy Grand 2 launch event today in Mumbai, Samsung also announced to launch the GamePad gaming controller at the end of the January 2014 in India. Unveiled a few days back, this mobile gaming pad will come with dedicated gaming buttons and will be compatible with a range of Samsung Galaxy smartphones. It will be available for Rs 4,999 in India.

Samsung GamePad measures at 137.78×86.47×31.80mm and comes with a D-Pad, two analog sticks, four action buttons, two trigger buttons and select, and start and PLAY buttons. It works with Samsung’s Galaxy series of smartphones with display sizes ranging from 4-inches to 6.3-inches, and running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and above. It can be connected to devices via Bluetooth 3.0 or NFC connectivity options.

The console will work with Samsung’s Mobile Console app, which will be downloaded from Samsung’s App Store. It will come with around 35 games for buying across various genres including Need for Speed Most Wanted, Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, Virtua Tennis Challenge and Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame among others.
