Samsung launches smartphone UI in 9 Indian languages
Samsung today announced it will offer smartphone and tablet UI in nine Indian languages. These will be supported on the Galaxy Grand, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Tab 3 from today and will be offered on the Galaxy Star later this month. The UI will be supported in Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati.
Apart from the UI, Samsung will also push for content in Indian languages from its own Samsung App Store. Users will be able to use ChatOn, Facebook, Gmail and Newshunt in any of these languages. Applications like Bharat Matrimony, Ganesh speak. India property, Times of India, BSE and Mydala will soon be available in Indian languages.
“We will be adding more languages and eventually have it across our smartphone portfolio,” said Vineet Taneja, country head, Samsung mobile and IT, Samsung India.
