Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Xcover 2, which also happens to be a waterproof smartphone. We had previously reported that Galaxy Xcover 2 could launch in February at MWC, but it seems like Samsung has jumped the gun.

Owning to its rugged build, the Xcover 2 is a waterproof device, which can survive 30 minutes under 1 meter of water. But apart from this, it packs quite a bit of firepower. It has a 4-inch display with a WVGA resolution, a dual-core 1GHz processor, and a 5-megapixel camera all in an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean package. It will also come pre-loaded with a Cardio Trainer Pro app, so perhaps Samsung is marketing this product towards fitness junkies.

Currently no release date and price has been announced for the device, but be rest assured there will be more details on the product at MWC later next month.

The last sentence should read: “Currently no release date and price has been announced for the device, but rest assured there will be more details on the product at MWC later next month.”

Drop the ‘be’ before ‘rest assured’. Common Indian mistake :)
