During the launch of the Galaxy S 4, Samsung’s new Co-CEO J K Shin told reporters that the company planned to introduce the new software features to older devices like the Galaxy S III if the hardware was compatible. It appears that Samsung, is coming good on its promise and is not reserving these features just for the Galaxy S III but also for lower-end devices like the Galaxy Grand. We have received an update for the Galaxy Grand that adds the Group Play app for the device and this app was originally announced for the Galaxy S 4.
The Group Play app on the Galaxy Grand may not be as exhaustive as the one on the Galaxy S 4, which also allows users to pair up 8 units to play games or videos, in addition to sharing music, pictures and documents. The app on the Galaxy Grand only allows users to share pictures, music and documents when connected on the same Wi-Fi network or via Wi-Fi direct that is built-in a number of Samsung smartphones.
