10.or, an Amazon India-exclusive brand, has started seeding the Android 8.1 Oreo update to its 10.or D smartphone. The update is about 1.2GB in size, and is bundled with Android security patches up to June 2018.
With the update, 10.or D has become the cheapest smartphone to run stock Android 8.1 Oreo. The base variant of the smartphone with 2GB RAM, and 16GB storage is priced at Rs 4,999. It’s worth mentioning that 10.or had promised to update its smartphones to Android Oreo a while back, so it’s good to see the company fulfilling that promise.
The Android 8.1 Oreo update for the 10.or D brings features such as new icons for Phone and Gallery apps, as well as the ability to have the notification shade change color automatically based on the wallpaper (dark/light).

Other usual Oreo goodies such as Picture-in-picture mode, and Autosave of passwords among others are included with the update as well.
Speaking of 10.or D, the smartphone comes in two configurations – 2GB RAM/16GB storage. and 3GB RAM/32GB storage. Both are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425 SoC. The smartphone has a 5.2-inch HD display of 720×1280 pixels resolution. For imaging, the smartphone includes a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter.
All standard connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio, and microUSB are thrown in the mix as well. The whole package is backed by a 3,500mAh battery. The smartphone was launched to take on budget devices such as the Xiaomi Redmi 5A.
