Acer A110 pops up online with Jelly Bean
Back at Computex, Acer had unveiled the A110 7-inch Android tablet. The device was a pretty standard Android tablet except that it was brandishing a Nvidia Tegra 3 with Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Today, the very same device has popped up on British Online retail website EBuyer, but in a new avatar, running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Of course, all this is just speculation as the website could have just Photoshopped a Jelly Bean home screen on the tablet, but if it is running Jelly Bean, then buttery goodness of Android 4.1 will be available in a tablet that is not the Google Nexus 7. From the looks of it, the device is running stock Jelly Bean but we will not peg our bets on that, as Acer has a penchant for custom Android skins.
The website is retailing the device for around GBP 180 which turns out be around Rs 15,744. Apart from this, we know it will have a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, a 7-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot. Perhaps, the biggest advantage the Acer A110 has over is the Nexus 7, is the microSD card slot that allows the user to expand the memory of the device unlike the Nexus 7 that is locked-in at 8 GB or 16GB depending on the model.
