Adobe has announced that it is partnering with Microsoft to bring its Adobe Document Cloud to Office 365. This includes advancements in Adobe Sign and new PDF integrations where Sign will integrate with Microsoft Dynamics 365 for “real-time access to customer details” to increase the level of automation in sales processes. The company also announced that that Adobe Sign has become the first Cloud Service Provider in the industry to pass the FedRAMP standard. For the uninitiated, it is a government-wide program that the federal government in the United States refers to, to ensure that any service matches a standard set of security standard.

The new PDF integration will be available for all the Office 365 users that have the subscription for Adobe Acrobat DC for enterprise or teams. Users will be able to make, view, manipulate, or secure PDF documents right from the ribbon interface in online versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and SharePoint. Ashley Still, the Vice President and General Manager for Digital Media added, “As leaders in document and productivity software, Adobe and Microsoft are integrating best-in-class cloud services like Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Adobe Sign and now Adobe Acrobat DC to meet the needs of today’s agile and rapidly evolving workforce.”

Ron Markezich, corporate vice president for Microsoft Office 365 at Microsoft went on to add, “Microsoft and Adobe share a common vision of the workplace of the future- one that is centered on teamwork and collaboration.” However, this is not the only announcement that Adobe made in the last couple of day.

The company also rolled out a new version of Adobe Scan for Android as well as iOS devices. The new version of Adobe Scan will allow the app to make digital contacts from physical business cards. Adobe will use optical text recognition to change physical cards into digital contacts and save those contacts in their contact list without typing all the data from scratch. The app will use Adobe Sensei-powered AI to detect the corners of the card, correct perspective, adjust shadows, and lighting in real time while extracting the text.
