Bharti Airtel had deployed ZTE to supply and manage its 4G LTE network in Kolkata last month. However, this time around, the carrier has appointed Huawei to set up its 4G network in the state of Karnataka. Under this agreement, Huawei will deliver the LTE solutions comprising of network infrastructure and devices. Huawei has partnered with Bharti Airtel in Sri Lanka and is also the 3G provider in the state of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Besides, they are also providing pan-India 4G optical network, Carrier Ethernet infrastructure and NGN switches.
Along with launching its 4G network in Kolkata and Karnataka, the carrier will also launch 4G LTE network in two other circles – Maharashtra and Punjab, for which the operator had paid a whopping amount of Rs 3,314.36 crore two years ago in the BWA spectrum auction.
