Airtel has updated its postpaid plan offerings with a shake-up in the two most expensive plans. The new Rs 799 plan now offers 100GB of 4G/3G/2G data per month, while the Rs 1,199 plan offers 120GB of data. These plans are ideal for heavy users of mobile data, and don’t have a daily fair usage policy-determined data cap for high speed data, allowing users freedom in how they utilize their data.

Notably, the Rs 799 plan allows up to three connections on a single rental when you subscribe to a family plan, while the Rs 1,199 plan allows up to four connections. This is ideal for families and groups, where a single rental will allow all users to enjoy the benefits of the plan. As is the case with all of Airtel’s postpaid plans, all calls on local and STD are unlimited and free on the rental.

As part of the plans, you also get additional benefits in the form of access to Airtel’s Wynk Music service, Airtel TV, a handset protection scheme, and a one year Amazon Prime subscription, which is worth Rs 999 on its own. The Amazon Prime subscription can only be redeemed by users that do not already have a subscription. Data rollover is also available on the plans, but the maximum limit of the rollover has not been specified.

The plans are designed to take on Vodafone, which has recently also shuffled its postpaid plans around and changed the benefits on offer. The company recently introduced its most affordable postpaid plan, RED Basic, which offers unlimited calls and 20GB of data per month at Rs 299. Vodafone notably offers higher data benefits on its most expensive plans, which are also priced significantly higher than Airtel’s Rs 1,199 plan.

The RED Signature Rs 2,999 plan offers 300GB of data per month, along with unlimited calls all over India and 200 minutes of ISD calls as well. While Airtel’s Rs 1,199 plan offers more data than the equivalent Rs 1,299 plan from Vodafone, which comes with 100GB of monthly data and a rollover of up to 500GB.
