Airtel has been keeping up with the newest industry entrant Reliance Jio for quite some time now and is known to make changes to its own plans quite often. Now the telco has revised its two of the more popular prepaid plans of Rs 149 and Rs 399 yet again.
Airtel has rolled back data benefits of the Rs 149 and Rs 399 plans from 1GB data per day and 1.4GB data benefit per day for 28 days and 70/84 days, respectively. This might be a let down because only last month the company gave some select users the benefit of 2GB data per day with the Rs 149 plan and 2.4GB data per day with the Rs 399 prepaid plan.
Reliance Jio was prompted into action by Airtel’s aggressive marketing and offered the Double Dhamaka offer for every user on every prepaid recharge plan starting from Rs 149 to provide additional 1.5GB data benefit. Considering the offer from Jio ended on June 30 and was not renewed, the action from Airtel might be a result of that.
To sum up Airtel’s Rs 149 prepaid plan, the company is now offering 1GB data per day for a period of 28 days from the recharge, that gives the plan a total benefit of 28GB. The plan comes with unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit and 100 SMS per day for a period of 28 days.

The Rs 399 plan from Airtel on the other hand, will be offering 1.4GB data per day for a period of 84 days for some users while it is only valid for 70 days for others. Like the other plans, users will have unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for the specified time period for them. Users additionally can check the validity of their plan on the My Airtel app or Airtel website.
