After launching the Idol X+ exclusively on Flipkart earlier this year, Alcatel One Touch today launched the One Touch Hero phablet and three smartphones in its Idol series called Idol X, Idol S and Idol Mini. Unlike the Idol X+ however, these new smartphones will be available in brick and mortar stores.
Starting with the One Touch Hero, which was unveiled at IFA last year. The smartphone features a 6-inch 1080p display, powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6589T quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It has a13-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 32GB), a 3,400mAh battery and a stylus. The Alcatel One Touch Hero is priced at Rs 30,000.
The Idol series of smartphones are more affordable with prices starting at Rs 10,000. The Idol X features a 5-inch 1080p display, 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Alcatel Idol S features a 4.7-inch HD 720p display, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 1.3-megapixel front camera. The Alcatel Idol Mini, on the other hand, features a 4.3-inch FWVGA display, 5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera and 512MB of RAM. All the three devices will be available in multiple variants with storage options of 4GB, 8GB and 16GB.
In May this year, Alcatel One Touch had launched its Idol X+ priced at Rs 16,999 in an exclusive partnership with Flipkart. However, now it has tied up with Brightpoint to distribute its smartphones across the country at brick and mortar stores.
