Oppo’s anticipated R series of smartphones, Oppo R17 and Oppo R17 Pro, have been spotted on China’s TENAA with images. These were recently reported to have passed 3C certification as well.
The two model numbers Oppo PBEM00 and PBET00 are said to be variants of Oppo R17, and Oppo R17 Pro. However, one of the tipsters on Weibo claims that these two model numbers correspond to Oppo R17 only.
Previous few leaks have suggested that Oppo is ditching the fingerprint sensor on these devices. But now it appears that only R17 Pro will have the in-display fingerprint scanner like the Vivo NEX. The Oppo R17, on the other hand, as seen in TENAA listing features a near identical design to the R17 Pro, but with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The TENAA images also reveal that the front of Oppo PBEM00 and PBET00 will feature a very small notch like the one company is teasing for the Oppo F9. The listing doesn’t reveal full specifications. It only notes that the handset will feature a 6.4-inch display, and dimensions of 157.5×74.9×7.5mm. The battery is listed as 3,415mAh.
Contradicting this TENAA listing, one of the Chinese tipsters claimed that upcoming Oppo R17 and R17 Pro will be powered by Snapdragon 710 chipset, and will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner. He further added that the Oppo R17 could be the first device from Oppo to feature 8GB or even 10GB of RAM. It is said to come with TOF 3D sensing technology for 3D facial recognition, and as 3C certifications also revealed, a 20W fast charging support (may be advanced VOOC fast charging from Oppo).

While the rumors are different from each other, what we know for sure is that Oppo’s next flagship will carry Corning’s latest Gorilla Glass 6 for the display at least.
