Amazon India is celebrating its fifth anniversary today. On this huge milestone, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has taken the time out to write an open letter to the Indian customers. Bezos thanks them for all the support in making the company the most visited shopping website in the country, for the last two years. In his letter, Bezos also stated all the other milestones Amazon India has achieved in its five year journey in the country. Amazon, at the moment, reaches customers from 100 percent serviceable pin codes, thanks to local initiatives such as Udaan and I Have Space. The massive growth of the company has also influenced local businesses and artisans to start selling on the platform.

Amazon also carries millions of free delivery prime-eligible products in its assortment. The company ships packages from 50 fulfilment stores across 13 states. It is also currently expanding its reach in rural areas, not just with selling, but also in helping with local environmental projects.

Apart from the that, Bezos also spoke about the adoption of Alexa and Echo speakers, launched in the country last year. The virtual assistant offers more than 15,000 skills and features. Amazon is also working with the third-party developers to bring in more capabilities, specifically for the Indian audience.

The CEO also mentioned the growth of Kindle Book Store and Amazon Prime video services. The online book store currently carries eBooks from five Indian languages including, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati and Malayalam.
