Google just launched a new Beta build for its upcoming version of Android, Android P Beta 2. This new version comes almost a month after the company launched the first Beta version at Google I/O 2018. People who are interested in installing this new version can install it through an OTA (over the air) update or download and flash it manually if they have a Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL, Google Pixel 2, or a Google Pixel 2 XL. The major change with this version is that this ships with final APIs (Application Programming Interface, through which the apps interact with the operating system) for Android P.

This means that developers can finally test their apps to ensure that the apps are working fine with Android P and make any changes if necessary. As reported by xda developers, app developers can soon make use of ML Kit to add the functionality of “Smart Reply” in their own apps.

Remember that you could install Android P Beta on a number of non-Pixel devices such as the Essential Phone, OnePlus 6, Sony Xperia ZX2, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Nokia 7 Plus, Oppo R15 Pro, and Vivo X21. Android P Beta 2 is not available for all these devices at the time of writing. Essential is the only company that has rolled out the Android P Beta 2 along with Android security patches for June to its devices. Google will be rolling out this new version of Android P Beta to the Android Beta partners in coming weeks.

This new version has also added 157 new emojis that will come later this year as reported by The Verge. These new emojis include gender-neutral options for the couple and family emojis, skateboard, emoji with redheads, curly hair, white hair or for bald people, birthday party hat, mango, a ball of yarn, and more.

Other features that we already know include Adaptive Battery, App Actions, Slices, support for display cutouts, native support for bio-metric sensors, native support for multiple-cameras, dynamic processing for Audio, and more.
