The mystery around the name of the next version of Android is gradually reaching its peak. Google is expected to announce Android P, successor to Android 8.0 Oreo, sometime in September. However, as is the case, a lot of rumors and speculations are building around the possible name Google might use for its new sweet treat.
Adding to it, Google today released a bunch of new wallpapers for the Spring season. What is interesting about the pop-colored wallpapers is that Google seems to have dropped a subtle hint on what the next Android version could possibly be called.
Through its official Instagram account, Google has released the new Spring wallpapers as Stories. You can either choose to download them right from Instagram. Alternatively, you can save it from the story below, if you find the story has expired.
If one looks at the wallpapers, amidst the flowery, nature-inspired, and Spring-themed creatives is one wallpaper bright with popsicles. Google does not say anything dubious which might make it evident if the P in the Android P will stand for Popsicle, but there’s no harm in guessing here right?
To recall, Google has already rolled out the first Android P Developers Preview in early March. The new version promises a range of new features and performance improvements. Some of the new features include support for displays with a cutout or notch. This is expected to boost the number of devices which will pack the iPhone X-like display. In addition to that, there is likely to be support for multiple cameras, along with the ability to stream simultaneously.
