Apple released iOS 11.4 couple of weeks back and while the operating system fixes some of the key issues, it seems to have led to a new issue. Some iPhone users are claiming that the update has resulted in their devices draining faster.
The problem has been reported by a number of Apple iPhone users, and most of them have took to Apple’s official forum to report their issue. Most of them are complaining about rapid battery drain following the update to iOS 11.4. Considering that the previous versions of iOS also led to similar issues, Apple should see this as a cause of concern.
On Apple’s official forum, an iPhone user posted “I have the same issue with my 6S+. It was fine before the update. And my battery health is at 90% yet I just watched my battery % drop from 50% to 20% in a matter of minutes while not using it. I’ve looked through all the settings and can’t see anything I’ve previously had turned off turn back on with this new update in regards to saving battery life. Whatever it is that’s causing it they need to fix it ASAP.”
Apple is yet to officially respond to the issue, but it does seem to be a recurring issue with every major release of iOS software. In the past few quarter, iOS has been found to have a number of issues including text string issues where a simple text would crash the Messages application. While Apple has been fixing such issues with immediate effect, the stability of iOS has become questionable.

At WWDC 2018 early this month, Apple took a different approach where it released minor updates, and decided to focus on improvements under the hood. The software brings major stability fix to the ecosystem as rival Android catches up in terms of design and stability.
