Apple iPhone 6 4.7-inch variant to allegedly feature a 1,810mAh battery, photo leaked

The 4.7-inch variant of the forthcoming Apple iPhone 6 could feature a 1,810mAh battery if a leaked photo is to be believed. The photo was leaked by French website NoWhereElse.

While it is difficult to comment on the authenticity of the photo, it is consistent with earlier reports, which too claimed that 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will feature a battery with a capacity around 1,800mAh. If it indeed is the case, then the iPhone 6’s battery capacity will only be slightly higher than iPhone 5S’, which features a 1,560mAh battery. While it may seem like a small bump, there is likely to be a greater synergy between the iPhone 6 and iOS 8, which could result in battery efficiency.

Apple is widely believed to be launching the first variant of the iPhone 6 sometime in September. The new iPhone 6 will feature some design changes including curved edges, a power button on the side rather on the right top-corner and elongated volume rocker instead of the circular volume buttons.

Apple was also said to be facing issues with the battery for the bigger 5.5-inch variant, which was solved yesterday. One of its new supply partners in Taiwan is reported to have found a way to develop a battery less than 2mm thickness and with a degree of flexibility too.
