Apple launched its new iPhones in India back in October last year. While the company hasn’t announced an official price drop, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are available on Indian e-commerce sites for much less. The price drop was spotted by Times of India.
Third-party sellers on e-commerce sites like Flipkart and Amazon India have included generous discounts on all iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus variants. The iPhone 6 16GB variant, which was launched for Rs 53,500 is available for as low as Rs 48,454 and Rs 50,275 on Flipkart and Amazon India respectively.
A list of prices for all the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus follows.
|Phone||Launch Price||Flipkart||Amazon India|
|iPhone 6 16GB||Rs 53,500||Rs 48,454||Rs 50,275|
|iPhone 6 64GB||Rs 62,500||Rs 57,440||–|
|iPhone 6 128GB||Rs 71,500||Rs 69,999||Rs 70,999|
|iPhone 6 Plus 16GB||Rs 62,500||Rs 55,999||Rs 56,990|
|iPhone 6 Plus 64GB||Rs 71,500||Rs 68,990||Rs 65,999|
|iPhone 6 Plus 128GB||Rs 80,500||Rs 78,085||Rs 73,999|
In addition to the price slash, Flipkart and Amazon India are further tempting buyers by bundling in further offers. The latter for example, is offering a cashback of Rs 8,400 on the purchase of any of the iPhone using a HDFC Credit Card. The former, on the other hand, is offering a 10 percent cashback to Citibank credit card users.
These price drops are only available online, and the offline retailers in Mumbai we contacted haven’t changed the price tags. This is another indication of how offline mobile retailers are unable to keep up with e-commerce sites when it comes to discounts and pricing.
