Apple is reportedly facing design and technical issues in the production of iPhone 8. This is likely to result in delayed launch of the much-anticipated OLED iPhone. On the other hand, Apple iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus are supposedly on schedule and might be unveiled at the annual Apple event in September this year.

According to The Korea Herald, sources from Apple’s supply chain have informed that the delay in the iPhone 8 production is being observed due to an unfinished design and technical challenges with rumored features or specifications of the premium smartphone. If reports are anything to go by, then Apple has not been able to finalize the design of the rear panel of the OLED iPhone 8 yet.

We suppose Apple is still struggling with the positioning of the Touch ID. ”Fingerprint scanning, which plays a crucial role in safeguarding payment solution Apple Pay, needs to be fault-free,” said another unnamed source, allegedly a display expert. The OLED iPhone 8 was said to hit mass production last week. The recent reports of Apple still being indecisive of the design of the phone might keep fans at wait for a little longer. Although the report citing an official from a South Korean component supplier suggest that Apple is certain about a September launch of LCD display panel based iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus. According to AppleInsider, the Korean publication does not have a reliable past with predicting Apple iPhone details. We recommend users to take this with the proverbial pinch of salt.
