Apple Music, the music streaming platform from the Cupertino-based tech giant, has received a small change. The streaming platform now has a dedicated section called ‘Music Videos’ for its subscribers. This addition will help the music streaming platform expand beyond just music which it already does in the form of a host of other contents including original shows like Carpool Karaoke, Planet of the Apps and 24-hour radio platform called Beats 1.
However, finding a music video on Apple Music was not easy and with the dedicated section, Apple is making it easier for the music streaming platform’s users to look for videos directly within the app, eliminating the need to manually look for their favorite music video. If you are an Apple Music subscriber then you can head over to Apple Music on your iOS device or even iTunes on your computer and you will see a new Music Videos tab in the browse section. Within the section, Apple Music users will now be greeted with the latest releases along with popular songs and other suggestions. For standard users, the new addition won’t be a deal breaker but if you are a fan of music videos then Apple Music has you covered in a dedicated section curated with latest suggestions.
The new dedicated section for Music Videos within Apple Music app shows Apple’s growing stance to compete with Spotify. Apple claims to have over 38 million paying subscribers on its platform while Spotify recently told SEC that it has a paid subscriber base of around 70 million. According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple Music is growing so fast that it is poised to overtake Spotify as the major streaming music platform in the US.
