Apple Store leak confirms mini dock connector, new “Late 2012″ iPad, iPad mini
An alleged leak from the Apple Store suggests that the next iPhone would indeed get a smaller dock connector. If the leak is legitimate, it would confirm the new connectors in iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as well as the mini dock connector adapter that would make older accessories and cables compatible with devices rocking the smaller port. The document suggests Apple would retail the adapter for $9.99 and it will be available in black and white. But that’s just half the story. The leak also suggests some new devices that Apple could launch soon, most probably on September 12. Read on.
One of the images in the leaked lot shows compatible devices with the dock adapter and confirms the sixth generation iPhone, fifth generation iPod touch, seventh generation iPod nano and hold your breath, two third generation Late 2012 iPads. The image clearly suggests a smaller iPad as well as a bigger one and classifies both under Late 2012. We believe the 7-inch iPad would be the only new one but Apple could change the connector in the current 2012 iPad, in order to standardize everything.
Unlike earlier rumors, the iPod nano retains its current shape and size. The iPhone and iPod touch also seem taller in the image than the current iPhone, suggesting rumors of a 4-inch display could be true.
