Assassin’s Creed Origins’ second DLC The Curse of the Pharaohs is coming to Xbox One PlayStation 4 and PC today (March 13).
If you have been waiting for Ubisoft to bring you more of Bayek’s adventure through the sands and history of Egypt then you’re in luck. And this time Ubisoft is bringing more than just history, as it includes mythology in the mix.
The Curse of the Pharaohs is the second DLC to come for Assassin’s Creed: Origins and is going to cost $19.99 (Rs 1,300 approx) over the cost of the original game.
Curse of the Pharaohs takes Bayek to the massive city of Thebes that houses famous temples like Karnak and Luxor. Here Bayek will encounter undead pharaohs materializing in the streets and slaughtering civilians. The story goes that grave robbers are treating the Valley of the Kings like a strip mine for antiquities. Bayek’s objective would be to hunt down key artifacts linked to each pharaoh in order to put them to rest.
Undead Pharaohs will be appearing randomly on the streets of Thebes to slaughter the innocents. Bayek will be notified when a pharaoh is on the loose and he would have to make his way there quickly and take care of the threat in a given time period. Otherwise the pharaoh will return to the underworld.
Ubisoft was careful enough to mention that taking on the pharaohs will be a challenge even for high level players. Besides the pharaohs, Beyek always has a chance to come across the Anubis-like guards roaming the land.
This DLC brings mystical elements like the Egyptian underworld, with exotic loot, majestic barges that float across fields of reeds, and mythical creatures like a giant scorpion.
The trailer showcases quite a few of the things mentioned in the release by Ubisoft. Check it out here.
With this DLC, Bayek’s level-cap has been increased to 55 and seven new abilities can now be unlocked. Some of these are buffs to other abilities, like Dash Boost.
