Asus has sent out invites for an event on April 24 where the company will unveil the FonePad 7-inch tablet in India. The FonePad was originally unveiled at the Mobile World Congress back in February, and it will now finally hit India.
It owes its FonePad nomenclature to the fact that users can also use it as a phone to make calls.
Additionally, the FonePad is the first Asus Android tablet to run an Intel processor. It runs on the Intel Lexington chipset which was unveiled earlier in the year at CES.
The Intel Atom Z2420 processor is clocked at 1.2GHz, but apart from this it has a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, 1GB of RAM, 8/16GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, a microSIM card slot, a 1.2-megapixel front facing camera, a 3.15-megapixel rear camera, and a 4,270-mAh battery. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
