Earlier in the day we indicated that Asus could launch the PadFone Infinity – a dockable smartphone/tablet hybrid. Well, Asus has just kicked off its Mobile World Congress press conference and it has officially announced the PadFone Infinity, which builds on the lineage of the PadFone and the PadFone 2.

The PadFone Infinity packs some solid firepower. Both the tablet and smartphone modules are home to 10.1-inch and 5-inch 1080p panels and the device is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, which hums at 1.7GHz. Additionally, there is 2GB of RAM, an Adreno 320 GPU, 32GB and 64GB memory variants, a 13-megapixel camera with a f/2.0 aperture and 5-element lens system like the iPhone, and a 2,400 mAh battery for the smartphone module. It will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Asus says that it will sell the PadFone and the Infinity Station combo for Euro 999 or Rs 71,391 in Europe starting from April. Unfortunately as is the case with these global announcements there is no word on Indian pricing and launch.
