Asus rumored to launch Memo Pad 7 HD at Computex

Rumors are abuzz that Asus will launch an updated, HD version of its Memo Pad 7 at Computex next week. Earlier today, the company had teased a device which hints at a 6-inch Transformer phablet with Android, SIM card and stylus support. And now YugaTech is reporting that Asus will unveil the successor of its Memo Pad 7 tablet in the same event.

The Asus MeMO Pad 7 HD is speculated to come with an HD 7-inch IPS LCD display with 1280×720 pixels resolution and 210 pixels per inch density. It is believed to be running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor. However, knowing that Memo Pad 7 was an affordable tablet, Asus might use a MediaTek processor to keep the price low. On memory front, it will most likely come with a 1GB RAM and a 16GB internal memory.

The tablet will be launched in a variety of colors including a black, white, blue, pink and yellow and is expected to retail for $169.

We wonder if this tablet has some connection to the device teased by Asus today, or whether this will be just another announcement amongst many other major launches.
