At Mobile World Congress 2018 in February, Asus announced its ZenFone 5 lineup with a design similar to that of Apple iPhone X. The company is expected to officially make ZenFone 5 series available in Taiwan and China on April 12. Now ahead of the launch, the pricing of ZenFone 5 has leaked, which seems to be consistent with the previous leaks.
According to a new leak spotted by MyDrivers, the Asus ZenFone 5 is said to be priced around NT$11,990 in Taiwan and around RMB 2,600 in China. The pricing translates to around Rs 26,000, which makes it a mid-range offering but seems to be expensive compared with other offerings in the market. For that price, consumers will get a modern device with a notch similar to iPhone X and edge-to-edge display design.
In terms of specifications, the Asus ZenFone 5 is expected to feature a 6.2-inch Super IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, the same chipset also powering Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro. It comes standard with 64GB of storage and option to choose between either 4GB or 6GB of RAM.
On the camera front, Asus has equipped the ZenFone 5 with a dual rear camera featuring a primary 12-megapixel camera and an 8-megapixel secondary camera. There is also an 8-megapixel camera at the front for selfies with f/2.0 aperture, electronic image stabilization and 1080p video recording. The connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS and 4G LTE.
