Asus has announced a price cut of Rs 1,000 on its budget smartphone ZenFone Live with real-time beautification feature. The smartphone with model number ZB501 was launched at Rs 9,999 in May and will now be available for Rs 7,999 after an interim price cut brought the retail price down to Rs 8,999. The company says the smartphone will be available at its new price from major e-tailers and retailers including Asus Exclusive Stores across India.
The USP of the device is the hardware-optimised real-time beautification feature integrated with the BeautyLive app. The beautification feature allows users to tweak their appearance while livestreaming on platforms like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. It sports a 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, autofocus and LED flash while selfies are handled by a 5MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture and dedicated LED flash. The front camera also supports an 82-degree wide field of view.
The handset features metal unibody design with 5-inch LCD display supporting 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage further expandable up to 128GB via SD card slot. Asus is also offering 100GB Google Drive storage on purchase of its ZenFone series smartphones.
With its focus on multimedia, Asus has also added dual MEMS microphones to eliminate ambient noise and deliver clear audio while livestreaming. It supports connectivity options such as WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G VoLTE and dual-SIM, and is backed by a 2,650mAh battery. The smartphone uses a micro-USB port and runs ZenUI 3.5 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The smartphone is available in black, pink and gold color options.
