Asus India has announced a permanent price cut on seven of its Zenfone-series smartphones in India. The Zenfone 3 5.2, Zenfone 3 5.5, Zenfone Max, Zenfone 3 Max 5.2, Zenfone 3 Max 5.5, Zenfone Go 5.0 and Zenfone Go 5.5 will now be available at discounted price across all major e-commerce sites including Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal and leading retail stores, including Asus Exclusive Stores across the country.
“India is one of the biggest markets for us and we are committed to accelerating our rapid growth. In this New Year, we will focus on two pillars of our strategy – ‘the first pillar’ is providing best technology that will work in India and the ‘second pillar’ is attractive pricing. We plan to have aggressive pricing to make Zenfones the most preferred smartphone choice for the Indian Consumer,” said Peter Chang, Region Head – South Asia & Country Manager for ASUS India.
Asus Zenfone 3 with model number ZE520KL and 5.2-inch display is now available for Rs 11,999. The smartphone was launched at Rs 13,999, and has now received a price cut of Rs 2,000. The Zenfone 3 with model number ZE552KL and 5.5-inch display has also received a price cut of Rs 2,000, and will now retail for Rs 14,999. The smartphone was launched for Rs 16,999 in India.
The Zenfone 3 series is the performance-oriented smartphone from the company and it comes equipped with Snapdragon 625 SoC and option for up to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. They also feature Asus’ PixelMaster 3.0 Camera setup that supports optical image stabilization along with electronic image stabilization.
Asus Zenfone 3 Max featuring a 5.2-inch display and having model number ZC520TL has received a price cut of Rs 1,500. The smartphone was launched at Rs 9,999 and is now available at a retail price of Rs 8,499. The 5.5-inch display variant of Zenfone 3 Max carrying model number ZC553KL is receiving the maximum price cut of Rs 3,000.
The Zenfone 3 Max ZC553KL will now retail for Rs 9,999, as opposed to its launch price of Rs 12,999. Asus Zenfone Max with model number ZC550KL is now priced at Rs 7,499, a discount of Rs 500 from its launch price of Rs 7,999. The Zenfone 3 Max series is aimed at consumers looking for smartphones with a large battery.
Lastly, Asus has also announced a price cut on its Go-series smartphones with the Zenfone Go variant with 5-inch display and 5.5-inch display receiving a price cut of Rs 1,000. It is now priced at Rs 6,499, whereas the variant with 5.5-inch is available at new price of Rs 6,999. The Zenfone Go is the entry-level device aimed at first-time smartphone buyers upgrading from feature phone.
Asus is not the first smartphone maker to announce a price cut in India. Oppo, Vivo and even Xiaomi have announced price cut on their best-selling devices in order to make way for updated devices expected to launch during this year.
