Google’s speculated revamped chat messenger service referred as Babel has last been in the rumor mill for being spotted in the wild. And now Techcrunch is claiming that this service will instead be a part of Google Hangout rather than being a standalone service.
Just to give a quick recap, Babel has been rumored to be Google’s very own messenger service with new features and interactive threaded messenger platform similar to other third party apps like WhatsApp and others. However, this new report based on a tipster’s information suggest that Google Babel will be a dimension of Google Hangout service that allows video calling to single or to up to eight users through Google+.
This information leak has assured one thing that Google is really focusing more on promoting and highlighting its social networking-based service Google+ in every way possible. In fact Google had recently announced to retire Meebo in order to focus more on Google+ sign-in.
We expect Google to unveil Babel at Google I/O, its annual developers event that begins next week.
