India is one of the key markets for smartphone companies, and most of them are putting all their efforts to make India-centric devices. Manufacturers also add content and features that are targeted at the Indian audience. A couple of months ago, we learnt that BlackBerry licensee Optiemus Infracom is making a smartphone that will be exclusive to India, and it is codenamed ‘Ghost’. Now, latest report hints that it will be released sometime this summer.
The news comes from reliable leakster, Evan Blass. He also mentions that the smartphone will come with dual rear cameras with support for optical zoom, and enhanced low-light photography. However, there is no info on the camera resolution, aperture or other details. Based on the last leaked render, BlackBerry Ghost is expected to feature an edge-to-edge display, and it won’t feature the iconic physical QWERTY keyboard. Instead, it will completely rely on touchscreen functionality.
After nothing new on these BlackBerry Ghost handsets from Optiemus for awhile, finally hearing that a summer release is expected. (Also told that the dual rear cameras feature low light enhancement and optical zoom.)

The smartphone is being designed by Optiemus Infracom, which holds license to sell BlackBerry branded smartphones in India. The company also recently said that it is planning to launch new smartphones under BlackBerry brand in India, over the next two quarters.
