BlackBerry’s BBM to land on Android before September: Report

BlackBerry’s messenger service BBM will land on Android devices before the end of September this year, IBNLive reports. On the sidelines of the launch of the BlackBerry Q5, Sunil Lalvani, managing director BlackBerry India indicated that BBM will indeed be launched on Android platform before September-end.

Reportedly, Lalvani said that “The service is coming to Android this summer. But summer as per North America, where it remains till September.” This means that those who have been waiting for the arrival of BBM on Android would not need to wait for too long. However, there is nothing being mentioned about its availability on iOS.

The company had first revealed to make the service multiplatform during the BlackBerry World conference held in May this year. Earlier, there were reports on BlackBerry working on bringing the BBM service pre-loaded on certain Android phones and was in talks with potential mobile vendors for the same.
