BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has revealed that it has revised all the prepaid plans that it offers as part of its data tariff portfolio. The revamp affects all the plans starting from Rs 14 still the top tier plan for Rs 241. According to a report by TelecomTalk, BSNL is aiming to take on the competition by introducing new and more aggressive plans in the market. According to the report, making our way from the least expensive plan, the Rs 14 data STV (Special Tariff Voucher) will now offer 1GB data for one day significantly increases the benefit to customers from its previous limit of 110MB.
The revised Rs 29 plan will offer 1GB data for three days instead of 150MB, Rs 40 plan will offer 1GB for five days while the Rs 57 plan will offer 1GB data for 21 days. The new benefits as part of the revamped Rs 68 plan include 2GB data for five days instead of the previous 1GB for five days. Rs 78 and Rs 82 plans will give users 4GB data for three days and the company has added a free personalized ring-back tone as part of the Rs 82 plan.

Rs 85 plan will offer 5GB data while the Rs 155 plan will provide users with 2GB daily data limit for 17 days. The company has changed data benefits of the Rs 198 plan to include 2.5GB daily data limit for 24 days along with a free personalized ring-back tone as part of the pack. Last but not the least, the Rs 241 plan will offer users 7GB of data for up to 30 days from the previous offering that gave 2.7GB data for 30 days.
Analyzing all the revised plans it looks like BSNL intentionally increase the data benefits that users receive while keeping all other things constant. However, this still does not offer as compelling offers as the competition offers at the time of writing and it seems that BSNL will have to offer more competitive offers to pull customers from other telecom operators.
