BSNL launches Aakash’s competitor, the Penta T-Pad for Rs 3,250

BSNL, in collaboration with Pantel Technologies, has come up with a tablet called the Penta T-Pad IS701R. Priced at Rs 3,250, this tablet is quite similar to the Aakash in most aspects. It has a faster 1GHz processor when compared to the Aakash UbiSlate 7+ but doesn’t come with a SIM card slot for GPRS connectivity. It runs on Android Gingerbread and will come with Wi-Fi support, a VGA camera, 2GB of inbuilt storage which is extensible up to 32GB, an HDMI and a 7-inch resistive touchscreen. The tablet is currently available for a pre-booking online. Pantel has two more tablets, the T-Pad WS704C with CDMA/EVDO and GSM connectivity (Rs 10,999) and the T-Pad WS802C with WCDMA/EVDO connectivity (Rs 13,500).
