State-owned telecom operator BSNL has announced two new tariff plans to stay competitive against its established rivals like Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. The telecom operator has introduced two new voice calling plans priced at Rs 319 and Rs 99. With these voice-only prepaid plans, BSNL is offering unlimited voice calls without any limit for the users.
With the Rs 319 prepaid voice calling plan, BSNL is offering unlimited voice calls to any network in the home circle and on national roaming, except Mumbai and Delhi. Those looking for free voice calls for Mumbai and Delhi circles, BSNL offers a separate recharge plan designed to offer voice call functionality specifically for these two circles. The Rs 319 plan comes without any fair usage policy (FUP), allowing users to make unlimited voice calls similar to Reliance Jio and Airtel.
The Rs 319 tariff plan has a validity of 90 days from the day of recharge, while the Rs 99 plan has a validity of 26 days. With Rs 99 tariff plan, BSNL also offers free caller tune service, which is sadly not available with the Rs 319 tariff plan. Both the plans are available pan-India. This new plan competes with Rs 98 plan from Reliance Jio, and Rs 99 plan from Bharti Airtel. However, it needs to be noted that BSNL only offers voice call feature while Jio and Airtel also give free data.
These plans are clearly aimed at those who make extensive amount of voice calls from their mobile connection. However, if you are looking for a bundled tariff plan that also includes data offer then BSNL has a Rs 118 plan that offers unlimited voice calls and 1GB of data for 28 days. The plan is valid only in Chennai and Tamil Nadu circles. Further, BSNL subscribers can also pick a Rs 187 prepaid plan that offers unlimited voice calls and 1GB of 3G data per day for 28 days, which is available across the country.
