CES 2014 Live: Summly becomes Yahoo News Digest, a twice-a-day news summary

Now we finally know why Yahoo acquired Summly. Marissa Mayer’s CES keynote brought the answer with Yahoo News Digest, which will be delivered to subscribers twice a day – once in the morning and evening. The news will be driven by an algorithm but curated editorially. The app will show the top headlines of the day across news categories and show summaries from multiple sources. The stories also have elements called ‘atoms’ that could be related maps, photographs, Wikipedia entries, infographics. It is available on the App Store to download for free now.
