CES 2014 Live: Yahoo acquires Aviate Android launcher


Yahoo CEO, Marissa Mayer has just announced it has acquired Aviate, the Android launcher that promises to provide an intuitive user interface that changes and suggests apps depending on the time of day and the location. Mayer mentioned that Yahoo got over 400 million visitors from mobile devices and it becomes clear how Aviate can play a role in making Yahoo’s services and content more accessible on smartphone screens. So far Aviate had been available as an invite-only on the Android Play store. It is still available here.
