Sony has announced two new 4K OLED TV at this year’s CES 2018, bearing model numbers AF8, and XF90. The AF8 will come in two screen sizes 55-inch and 65-inch, whereas the XF90 TV, will be available in 49-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch variants.
Sony AF8 TV
To begin with, the Sony AF8 TV comes with support for 4K content and features Sony’s 4K HDR picture processor X1 Extreme. It also comes with the company’s Acoustic Surface technology. The display comes with 8 million OLED pixels and the new design when compared to Sony A1 OLED, launched last year at CES 2017. The OLED panel on the new Sony AF8 is extremely low, so much so that the panel almost touches the surface on which the TV is placed, which means the TV comes with minimal bezel.
Sony XF90 TV
The XF90 is powered by the X1 Extreme 4K HDR processor. It promises the “ultimate 4K HDR viewing” and X-tended Dynamic Pro technology, which benefits both HDR and non-HDR content by adjusting backlight levels for each zone of the TV screen. It will come with support for HLG, HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR standards. It will also support commands from smart speakers made by Google and Amazon. The XF90 also supports Dolby Vision content following a firmware update due later this summer.
While other pricing details are not revealed by Sony, it did mention that that TVs will start shipping from March 2018.
