Commonwealth Games 2014 Glasgow opening ceremony: Watch live streaming online


The Commonwealth Games 2014 is set to kick off tonight at Glasgow, Scotland. The opening ceremony will begin at 12:30AM IST and you can watch it from the comfort of your home.

The Commonwealth Games 2014 opening ceremony will be live streamed on the sporting event’s YouTube page. Alternatively you can watch it in the video embedded below.

The event will see 4,500 athletes from 71 countries, including India, take part in various sports. Queen Elizabeth II, the official Head of the Commonwealth, will officially kick start the Games by reading a message carried in a baton. Former athlete Allison Curbishley became the last athlete on Tuesday to carry the Queen’s Baton in Glasgow, as it ended its 10-month journey across the Commonwealth.

The opening ceremony will take place at Celtic Park, and will feature Scottish musicians like Rod Stewart, Lulu and James Grant. Earlier today, Google dedicated a doodle on its homepage to the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games.
