Corning to showcase Gorilla Glass 3 at CES 2013

Corning will display their latest technology, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, a new glass composition that has enhanced durability. Gorilla Glass has already become a staple of most smartphones and its third iteration promises to have greater durability and resistance to scratches.
The reason for the improved strength is said to be their research on bonding properties and glass’ atomic structure which makes the glass resistant to scratches and less brittle. The special property ‘”Native Damage Resistance” is what protects the Gorilla Glass 3 from up to three times the pressure created by using a key or a rock on the surface.

Expect to see videos of some wild stress tests to showcase the strengths of Gorilla Glass once CES kicks off. CES is taking place between January 8-11 this year in Las Vegas.
