Dish TV India, the DTH-service provider recently held India’s first ever 30-hour grand-finale of hackathon for M&E Broadcasting industry. Called ‘Dish-a-thon’ it was held between June 23-24 2018 at CoWrks, Gurugram where more than 30 teams competed in a battle that featured innovation, creativity and technical skills.
The challenge was to come up with constructive solutions that can transform the customer experience. Team Git Init from DTU took the top spot, whereas the Teams Voicebox and Zodiac finished in the first and second runner up position, respectively.
The solutions created by the winning team offered easy accessibility to DTH services without using a remote. The participants also offered foolproof solutions for lead management system, and a prototype for AI enabled video commerce.
Dish-a-thon is powered by IncubateIND, which was a unique hackathon that aims at inviting disruptive ideas to cover path-breaking technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The hackathon witnessed participation from over 1,000 talented teams comprising of young innovators, students, developers, designers, data scientists and startups from across India.
