As India gears up to celebrate the 69th Republic Day, e-commerce companies Amazon and Flipkart don’t want to lose out on opportunity. While Amazon India announced its ‘Great Indian Sale’ from January 21 to January 24, Flipkart has announced ‘The Republic Day Sale.”
Flipkart has announced The Republic Day Sale to be held from January 21 to January 23. The Indian e-commerce company says it will offer discounts up to 80 percent on top brands across categories such as mobiles, electronics, fashion, home, furniture, books among others. The sale will also feature special launches and exclusive deals on mobiles, laptops, IoT accessories and more.
Flipkart says its customers will get offers such as “Minimum 69% off” on a wide range of products. The e-commerce platform will also have a dedicated “The India Store” to showcase curated selection of diverse products from local brands.

This Republic Day, we demonstrate a stronger commitment to India and hope to attract more customers through the best brands, exciting deals and affordable payment options,” said Smrithi Ravichandran, Senior Director – Growth, Flipkart.
The top deals during the three day sale will include up to 60 percent off on laptops, camera and other electronic accessories and up to 70 percent off on TVs and home appliances. The top deals include Smartron t.phone P at Rs 7,999, Google Pixel 2 XL at Rs 48,999, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge at Rs 35,900, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 at Rs 10,999 and Mi Mix 2 at Rs 29,999. The sale will also see exclusive availability of Honor 9 Lite, a quad-camera smartphone from Huawei’s e-brand.
In order to enhance the shopping experience, Flipkart says it will offer no cost EMI, Debit Card EMI, Product Exchange offers, Buy Back Guarantee, Buy Now Pay Later options. It will also offer 10 percent cashback on payments made through Citibank credit & debit cards. Flipkart will also host a “Bid & Win” game for its customers to win products at the lowest unique bid.
Flipkart and Amazon India have been competing against each other to become primary platform for Indian consumers who shop online. With sales being their most lucrative model to attract customers, it is no surprise that both of them are holding sales at the same time.
