Foxconn to make up to 2 million AIO PC’s in 2014 after bagging HP order

Foxconn today reported it has bagged orders to make 50 percent of all HP All In One (AIO) desktops for 2014. The world’s largest contract manufacturer claims that HP moved the orders to it from rivals Quanta Computer, Pegatron Technology and Wistron. With this order, Foxconn expects its AIO market share to be between 1.5-2 million units this year.

Desktops shipments are forecasted to decline in 2014 with tablets accounting for 50 percent of the overall computing market and desktops accounting for mere 17 percent at approximately 98 million units in 2014, according to research firm Canalys.
