Samsung launched the Galaxy J7 Pro and the Galaxy J7 Max in India today, priced at Rs 20,900 and Rs 17,900 respectively. With the smartphones, Samsung also introduced a new payment solution called ‘Pay Mini’ which works with mobile wallets and payment services like Paytm and UPI. The Galaxy J7 Pro is the India variant for the Galaxy J7 (2017) launched in Europe earlier this month. While the Galaxy J7 Pro does offer decent specifications, it will surely face competition from other smartphones in the same price range.
In terms of specifications, the Galaxy J7 Pro features a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, and is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7870 SoC. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card. In the photography department, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and 1080p video recording capabilities.
Up front, the smartphone houses a 13-megapixel camera with flash for selfies. The Galaxy J7 Pro packs a 3,600mAh battery, and is IP54 certified for splash resistance. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, and a microUSB port. On the software front, it runs on Android Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box wrapped under Samsung’s custom UI. Nubia Z17 mini
The highlight of the nubia Z17 mini is its dual-camera setup which includes a pair of 13-megapixel sensors – one for clicking photos in RGB, and the other in monochrome. The Moto G5 Plus with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage is priced the lowest at Rs 16,999. Its 5.2-inch full HD display also comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The Moto G5 Plus is fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery with TurboCharging feature which offers 6 hours of battery after 15 minutes of charge. More specifications include a Snapdragon 625 SoC, 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and Android 7.0 Nougat. Honor 8 Lite
The Honor 8 Lite launched just last month at Rs 17,999, and is a stripped down version of the Honor 8. The smartphone comes with a 2.5D glass in front covering its 5.2-inch full HD display and on the back as well. The smartphone offers more memory with 4GB of RAM. It is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 655 octa-core processor, a 3,000mAh battery and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat-based EMUI 5.0. Although the Honor 8 Lite lacks a dual camera setup, the smartphone features a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1.25μm large pixel size, and BSI CMOS sensor. Next in line is the selfie-focused Oppo F3, priced at Rs 19,990. The smartphone features a dual selfie camera setup which comprises of a 16-megapixel sensor for regular selfies, and an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens sensor for group selfies. On the rear end, the Oppo F3 sports a 13-megapixel camera with PDAF and LED flash. The smartphone’s 5.5-inch full HD display is covered with 2.5D curved glass and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Oppo F3 also boasts a dual-SIM slot where people can use two nano SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time. The Vivo V5s, priced at Rs 18,990 is also another selfie-focused smartphone sporting a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with Moonlight Glow LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, Face Beauty 6.0 and Group Selfie mode. The smartphone also houses a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF support and LED flash. The Vivo V5s boasts 4GB RAM, and 64GB storage that can be expanded up to 256GB. The smartphone also includes a feature called ‘App Cloning’ which allows users to have two WhatsApp accounts on the same device. Otherwise, the smartphone is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 SoC, packs a 3,000mAh battery and runs on Android Marshmallow-based FunTouch 3.0 OS on top.
