Gionee Elife E6 smartphone launched in India for Rs 22,999
As expected, Chinese smartphone vendor Gionee has launched the Elife E6 smartphone in India for Rs 22,999. A couple of months ago when we got a look at the smartphone we were thoroughly impressed by its capabilities.
The device packs a delectable uni-body design that combines a polycarbonate chassis and geometric lines. It definitely is a premium smartphone, unlike other Chinese smartphones.
Under the hood, it has a 5-inch full-HD display with a 1080p resolution. Gionee implements a ‘One Glass Solution’ display so the touch sensor and the main screen are fused in one unit. There is a 1.5GHz quad-core processor by MediaTek which is built using the ARM Cortex A7 architecture and has 2GB of RAM. This means the phone should be fast enough for most tasks.
It packs in 32GB of internal storage, though there is no micro-SD card slot. On the back it has a 13-megapixel camera that uses a Sony sensor and has a 5-element lens. It even flaunts a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Other features include a 2,020mAh battery, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS and the standard array of sensors that one finds on most modern smartphones.
The device is expected to run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on top of which Gionee implements its custom ROM, which it calls Amigo. The ROM gives Android a user interface more akin to iOS, similar to MIUI which is used by Xiaomi.
