After launching the ELife E7 and the ELife E7 mini in India back in December last year, Chinese mobile manufacturer Gionee is reportedly close to launching another smartphone called the GPad G4. FoneArena has spotted the phablet on Indian e-commerce sites where it is available for Rs 18,999.
Talking of specifications, the GPad G4 flaunts a 5.7-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek 6589T quad-core processor paired with PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU and 1GB of RAM.
Other features include 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and the ability to record 1080p videos, 5-megapixel front camera with 28mm wide angle lens, 16GB of internal storage and a 3,200mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Gionee has built the display using a one-glass solution and has also given the device an aluminum unibody. The device will be available in black and white color variants and at this price range will compete against the Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 and the Xolo Q3000.
In the case of the Canvas Doodle 2, though you would only get a 12-megapixel rear camera and a processor that is clocked at 1.2GHz, it is priced between Rs 14,000 and Rs 15,000 and hence will be lighter on the pockets. The Xolo Q3000, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 19,700 and for Rs 700 more you would get a full-HD 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and a bigger 4,000mAh battery.
