Gionee GPad G4 launched for Rs 18,999: features, specifications and comparison

Towards the end of last month, the Gionee GPad G4 was spotted online on a couple of Indian e-commerce sites. Today, the Chinese company has made things official by launching the phablet for Rs 18,999.

The GPad G4 flaunts a 5.7-inch 720p HD display made using a one-glass solution and is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek 6589T quad-core processor paired with PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU and 1GB of RAM. Gionee has also used an aluminum unibody to give the device a premium look

Other features include 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and the ability to record 1080p videos, 5-megapixel front camera with 28mm wide angle lens, 16GB of internal storage and a 3,200mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The device will be available in black and white color variants and at this price range will compete against the Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 and the Xolo Q3000.

In the case of the Canvas Doodle 2, though you would only get a 12-megapixel rear camera and a processor that is clocked at 1.2GHz, it is priced between Rs 14,000 and Rs 15,000 and hence will be lighter on the pocket. The Xolo Q3000, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 19,700 and for Rs 700 more you would get a full-HD 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and a bigger 4,000mAh battery.
