Gionee has expanded its Gpad lineup in India by launching the Gpad G5 priced at Rs 14,999. The smartphone will be available next week via both online and offline retail channels.
The Gionee Gpad G5 features a 5.5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display with Dragontrail protection and runs on 1.5GHz Cortex A7 hexa-core processor paired with 1GB RAM. The smartphone has 8GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB using the microSD slot.
The device comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 2-megapixel front camera. It packs a 2,400mAh battery and has connectivity options like 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and micro-USB. The dual-SIM device runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and will be available in white and black color.
The phone is set to give competition to Panasonic P61 and LG L90 that don similar specs except for a less faster processor and costs Rs 14,071 and Rs 14,298 respectively. The device will also cushion the frenzy surrounded around the mega-hit Xiaomi Mi3 that is priced at Rs 13,999.
In addition to the Gpad G5, Gionee has also listed the CTRL V4S on its official website. This was first spotted by Maktechblog. The smartphone features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.3GHz Cortex A7 quad-core processor paired with 1GB RAM. Also included is an 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 8GB internal memory, microSD slot, and an 1,800mAh battery.
Connectivity options include 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. There is currently no word on when Gionee plans on launching the device or at what price.
