Gionee M2 launched for Rs 10,999: features, specifications and comparison

gionee-m2In addition to the GPad G4, Gionee also launched the M2 in India today. The M2 boasts a massive 4,200mAh battery and is priced at Rs 10,999.

As far as the rest of the specifications are concerned, the M2 sports a 5-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) display and is powered by Cortex A7 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz and paired with Mali 400MP GPU and 1GB of RAM. It also offers 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.

Other features include an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 2-megapixel front camera, FM Radio and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

But as mentioned above, the phone’s USP is its massive 4,200mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for 24 hours of talktime on the 3G network, 31.5 hours on the 2G network and 555 hours on standby mode. This is also the reason it is pit directly against the Micromax Canvas Power, which is priced at Rs 9,900 and also boasts a monster battery.

Like the M2, the Canvas Power too features a 5-inch FWVGA display, quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, but in terms of the RAM (512MB), camera resolution (5-megapixel/VGA) and the battery (4,000mAh) it slightly lags behind.
