Gionee has launched the P2S targeting those eyeing a budget friendly Android smartphone. The phone is priced at Rs 6,499 in India and is up on sale on the company’s official eStore.
In terms of specifications, the Gionee P2S comes with a 4-inch WVGA display with 480×800 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core Cortex A7 processor and an ARM Mali 400 MP GPU, paired with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. The phone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.
On the connectivity front, it supports dual-SIM with dual standby and 3G network on one SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS/AGPS. The phone also features a microSD card slot, a 1,600mAh battery which the company claims gives up to 12.5 hours of talk time on 2G and up to 9 hours on 3G and a stand by time of 346 hours, and sensors like proximity, G-sensor, E-Compass and motion sensors. The phone is available in a variety of colors including blue and pink apart from the usual white and black.
Priced at Rs 6,499, the phone will be up against the likes of Xolo A500S which comes with a similar set of features including a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) display, a 1.3GHz dual-core processor with Mali 400 MP GPU, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, and a 5-megapixel primary camera coupled with a VGA front facing camera. It houses a 1,400mAh battery to juice it up, with a talk time of 10 hours on 2G and 8 hours on 3G, relatively lower than the battery on Gionee’s. The phone is retailing at Rs 6,490.
