Gionee Pioneer P4, the newest smartphone in the company’s Pioneer range of smartphones is now available on an e-commerce website in India for Rs 9,500. The Chinese company has yet to officially launch the device.
The Pioneer P4 is the successor to the Pioneer P3, which was launched in India in December last year. As far as specifications are concerned, the Pioneer P4 features a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6582V quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. In comparison, the Pioneer P3 featured a 4.3-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz Cortex A7 quad-core processor and 512MB of RAM.
Also included, is a 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card, and a 1,800mAh battery that the company claims is good enough for 11 hours of talktime and 386 hours on standby mode. The predecessor featured a 5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera, 4GB of expandable memory and a 1,700mAh battery.
Connectivity options on the Pioneer P4 include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and on, the software front it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
At this price point, the Pioneer P4 will be up against the likes of Karbonn Titanium S1 among others.
